Common Login Problems

Logging in before the account is verified

  1. You will get an error message that says, Please check your e-mail to verify your account.
  2. Our system will automatically send you another verification email. Each time you try to log in without clicking on the ACTIVATE link in the verification email, you will receive another verification email.

The Login button is clicked without an email address in the E-mail box

  1. You will get an error message, E-mail is required. Please try again
  2. Re-start the log in process

The Login button is clicked without a password in the Password box

  1. You will get an error message, Password is required. Please try again
  2. Re-start the log in process

The wrong email address, or password is entered

  1. Entering either the wrong email address, or the wrong password, results in the same message, User not found or incorrect password. For security reasons, SendThisFile will not indicate which item is incorrect.
  2. Re-start the log in process, and ensure that your email address and password match what you entered when you registered your account before you click the Login button.

You have forgotten your password

  1. Go to the login screen: https://www.sendthisfile.com/password-reset.jsp
  2. Enter in the email address that is associated with your account in the field.
  3. Click the Reset Password button. If the email address you entered in Step 2 matches the email address of one of our accounts, we will email a temporary password for that account to that email address.

Note: For security reasons SendThisFile will not fax, email to another email address, telephone, instant message, text message, mail, send via overnight courier or utilize any other method to send you your password.

Cookies are turned off

  1. If you try to log in with cookies turned off you will get an error message that says, Account timed out or your browser’s cookies are disabled.
  2. You need to turn on first party cookies. For example, in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 you click Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced > First-party Cookies > Accept > OK > OK.
  3. Finally, you must close every copy of your browser that is open in order for the new settings to take effect.  Then relaunch your browser.

There no activity for a long period after logging in

  1. When you try to use your account, you will get an error message that says, Account timed out or your browser’s cookies are disabled. This is for security purposes.
  2. Re-start the log in process
